Nutrition and Health: Balance is Your Key

Eating with nutrition in mind is something that typically does not happen in today’s hustle and bustle life styles. I mean, who has the time to worry about nutrition? Besides, I don’t like the stuff that is good for me, it don’t taste good. Am I right? Am I hitting home with how you think? That’s OK. I used to be a victim to that kind of thinking. I have learned over the years that my thinking was a little bit wrong.

Surprise! It turns out I can eat a wide variety of foods and still maintain my optimal health. Now that is exciting! Good eats and good health; what more could you want?

Throughout this site, I will give you information from different aspects of nutrition. Different researchers and different studies have determined some variations to maintaining good nutrition and I will be sharing some of that information with you.

Balance is the key to achieving and maintaining good nutrition. I believe a person can eat high fats, high carbohydrate foods only and still maintain optimal weight.

Careful, don’t get in too big of a rush. The key would be eating in moderation and getting the proper exercise. So, could it be done? Yes. However, that person would likely have some deficiencies in nutrition. You are searching for information to help you achieve your optimal weight while maintaining optimal health. Balance is your key. Not only can you eat foods that everyone knows is not necessarily healthy, but you can do this and maintain health.

I am a believer in balance. I, like most you, live a busy life. A typical day includes working at my job 12-18 hours per day four days per week. I do get long weekends, but during the weekends, I am following my kids with their sports, keeping up with my honey-do’s at home, and trying to stay involved with my church and other community activities.

The sports I follow with my kids include football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, track, and fast-pitch softball. So, as you can see, there is little time in my schedule to worry about maintaining optimal health, but I do. Balance is your key. Not only are you striving for balance in the four areas I mentioned on the home page (Nutrition, Fitness, Mental/Spiritual, and Financial), but you need to strive for balance within each of those areas themselves.

I will share with you what works for me and I will provide you with information throughout the various pages giving you guidance, hope, and insight. Not only that, but you will have fun! You mean achieving good health and having fun at the same time is possible? Absolutely!
